Should ATV Riding For Kids Be Considered So Dangerous That It Be Banned ?
posted in Motocycles |There are many reasons that I can think of right now that condones the act of ATV riding for kids. In life, there’s a risk in everything. There’s a risk of choking on a piece of chicken over the dinner table. There’s a risk of slipping in the bathroom while showering. There’s a risk of breathing in bad bacteria and dying from it. Why, then, should ATV riding for kids be considered so dangerous that it be banned? Like riding a bicycle or driving a car, the possibility of running into danger is there too but the risk of sustaining fatal or critical injuries in the course of riding the ATVs can be minimized if one takes adequate or extra precaution while doing it. ATV riding is an extremely healthy activity for the kids….for the mind and the body.Mental strength is enhancedAs with every other type of sports, letting a child ride an ATV suitable for his or her gae is perfect to strengthen their mental muscles. Discipline is required and when one is under a little bit of healthy pressure, the child will learn to be better in controlling their emotions or practicing restraints.Physically fit kidsSome people are surprised to see that ATV riding can be quite a difficult sport. It’s not easy to maneuver a machine like that perfectly and under stressful conditions. Therefore, when a child is allowed to ride his or her ATV regularly, you will soon see that the kid’s motor skills are enhanced and they become physically fitter.Learning life skills from riding an ATVLike having a pet, when a child owns his or her first ATV, the kid will become attached to the machine. Just because it doesn’t jump up at the kid when he/she comes through the garage door does not mean that the kid won’t get attached to the machine! With that attachment, comes responsibility because the child will learn that in order for the ATV to run properly, he/she needs to pay attention to the vehicle and this comes in the form of cleaning the vehicle up regularly and learning about the parts of the ATV that needs to be replaced.ConclusionATV riding is an all-round healthy sport and a physically-challenging recreation for both kids and adults alike. Whilst I see the anxiety expressed by some parents over the ever-rising popularity of ATV riding in the country, I believe that risks are everywhere. Living is a risk, hence, we have to accept the risk, take precaution, be informed, learn and let live. Wrongful and inaccurate reports of accidents related to ATV riding for kids did not help matters at all. If you’re a concerned parent wondering if you should let your children ride ATVs during their spare time, I urge you to check the facts and figures properly before condemning the sport.
