When you turn on your motor vehicle, and before even placing the car into gear, you should make a commitment to yourself and others that you will operate the vehicle safely and as best so of your ability. Many people assume that driving drunk or under the influence of other substances is the only dangerous actions you can take part of while behind the wheel: however, the fact is that there are multiple more actions that can severely hamper your ability to make rational, quick, and accurate decisions on the road. Listed below are some of the most problematic reasons for car accidents on the road. Keep in mind that all of these listed decisions are up to you and can keep stopped at any time. The first and most controversial reason for accidents on the road is the use of a cell phone. Some states have even gone so far to ban the use of cell phones, enforceable by a hefty fine and even possible points on your license.Another distraction on the road is eating or smoking. As tempting as the thousands of fast food chains are lining many of the major roadways, you should make use of the inside seating area. Smoking is a habit that a sizable portion of anyone over the legal driving age partakes in. When smoking is listed as a distraction, it is more reaching for and lighting of the cigarettes that present a problem.Slowing down and diverting your precious attention from the road to another accident is also not only an enormous annoyance, but also very dangerous. The fact is that many people do it, and when you have multiple cars looking at the same spot, usually to the left or the right, breaking and accelerating takes a back seat and fender benders become extremely common.Conversations with passengers within the vehicle can often present problems as well. Studies have shown that conversations with only one individual will often result in slower driving, while an engaging conversation with several passengers tends to result in accelerated driving. Even though your eyes may be on the road, your mind is elsewhere impacting reaction time, attention span, and common sense on the clogged roadways. All of these distractions do nothing but increase the chance of an accident. Even if you are a good driver with no past experience of being in an accident, there are always the other millions of individuals driving on the road that could become a problem with you nearby. All of these decisions also come into play when you are driving other passengers such as family, close friends, or even your children. Placing yourself in danger while driving is dumb, but placing others in danger by your actions is selfish. When it comes to driving on the road, make sure that you remember that you’re not the only one of the road. There are women, children, and men of all ages, so just when you think it’s you that rules the earth, you better think again and drive safe!

Car auctions are melting pots of great used cars. Clearly, you can acquire your very own car at a relatively low price from car auctions. But don’t think that there are no risks involved when you decide to purchase your car from car auctions. This is because these cars are used cars. But, if you know what to do, you will definitely find your experience at car auctions a relatively good one.The first thing that you need to bear in mind is to check the car you’d like to place your bid on. Check it thoroughly - inside out, that is. Check it not only once but as much as needed until you get the confidence that will tell you that you are bidding on a quality used car. There are auctions that allow for a preview. So, take advantage of this because you can gain a lot of details about the car you’d like to bid on in previews.
Equip yourself with the necessary technology and online service that will allow you to check car’s history. You can bring a mobile or wireless device that will enable you to hook up on online service that will give you the chance to check the VIN# of the car and other details. Don’t take this advice for granted because this really spells the difference between a wise buyer and a foolish one.Get your hands dirty and check the engine, body and everything to see if the car will work properly. By doing this, you can also see defects that are not easily seen. But if you do not have the necessary know-how you can also do this by asking one mechanic near you to accompany you in the auction. Let him see for himself if the car is a good buy or not.You can also read auction guidelines and tips so that you will have the knowledge that generally you will not have if you skip this step. Also, deal directly with the officers concerned and not with agents just to make sure that you are not being persuaded to buy the wrong car. Make sure all the car’s documents are in good shape and they are updated and free from any defects, as well.By equipping yourself with the tools and knowledge, there is high chance that what you get is not a scam but a great buy.Car auctions are really nice places where you can buy your very own car. They have websites and offices where you can get access of details relative to buying cars from them. If you have the patience and right attitude you are well on your way to getting your dream car from car auctions.Just remember and execute all these simple tips and you are generally assured that you will be guided properly in the process of buying a used car from car auctions.

There are many reasons that I can think of right now that condones the act of ATV riding for kids. In life, there’s a risk in everything. There’s a risk of choking on a piece of chicken over the dinner table. There’s a risk of slipping in the bathroom while showering. There’s a risk of breathing in bad bacteria and dying from it. Why, then, should ATV riding for kids be considered so dangerous that it be banned? Like riding a bicycle or driving a car, the possibility of running into danger is there too but the risk of sustaining fatal or critical injuries in the course of riding the ATVs can be minimized if one takes adequate or extra precaution while doing it. ATV riding is an extremely healthy activity for the kids….for the mind and the body.Mental strength is enhancedAs with every other type of sports, letting a child ride an ATV suitable for his or her gae is perfect to strengthen their mental muscles. Discipline is required and when one is under a little bit of healthy pressure, the child will learn to be better in controlling their emotions or practicing restraints.Physically fit kidsSome people are surprised to see that ATV riding can be quite a difficult sport. It’s not easy to maneuver a machine like that perfectly and under stressful conditions. Therefore, when a child is allowed to ride his or her ATV regularly, you will soon see that the kid’s motor skills are enhanced and they become physically fitter.Learning life skills from riding an ATVLike having a pet, when a child owns his or her first ATV, the kid will become attached to the machine. Just because it doesn’t jump up at the kid when he/she comes through the garage door does not mean that the kid won’t get attached to the machine! With that attachment, comes responsibility because the child will learn that in order for the ATV to run properly, he/she needs to pay attention to the vehicle and this comes in the form of cleaning the vehicle up regularly and learning about the parts of the ATV that needs to be replaced.ConclusionATV riding is an all-round healthy sport and a physically-challenging recreation for both kids and adults alike. Whilst I see the anxiety expressed by some parents over the ever-rising popularity of ATV riding in the country, I believe that risks are everywhere. Living is a risk, hence, we have to accept the risk, take precaution, be informed, learn and let live. Wrongful and inaccurate reports of accidents related to ATV riding for kids did not help matters at all. If you’re a concerned parent wondering if you should let your children ride ATVs during their spare time, I urge you to check the facts and figures properly before condemning the sport.

As we fill up with gasoline every day, a lot of us sit back and wonder how exactly is the gasoline price determined? What plays the part of making the gas prices so low or so high? In this article, we are going to explain a few factors that play a part in determining the gas prices. Hopefully after you read these points, you’ll better understand the gas industry and how gas prices are determined.Amount of oil producedOil comes from all points of the world and as you may know by now, a majority of the
United States’ oil comes from the
Middle East. If the oil supply starts to dwindle, this will cause less of a supply causing the price to rise. If the supply is too high, obviously the price will lower so that it’ll sell. This will bring us into the supply and demand part of gas.Supply and demandLike anything you buy or see in the stores, it all comes down to supply and demand. If there’s a lot of demand for a product, the price will be higher because the businesses know it will sell. If the demand for the product is lower, the businesses will have to cut costs in order to compete and let the products fly off the shelves. Supply and demand is also a big part of the gas industry.WarsBelieve it or not, wars have always made an impact on gas prices. If you look at the gas price history, you will notice that higher gas prices were always around during wars. Some experts say that wars have nothing to do with gas prices and others say that wars conflict with gas prices. We will let statistics speak for themselves and say wars creating an impact on prices.Local taxes, etcGas prices aren’t the same price around the
United States. Each state varies when it comes to gas prices. This is because of the local taxes and locations. You may that even in your area that some gas prices are higher in other areas. The reason that gas prices vary so much throughout the states is because of local and state taxes. A lower income area is going to have cheaper gas prices because of taxes compared to a higher income taxed area. There are other factors that determine gas prices such as the stock and petroleum market. When fear is involved, it can affect the gas prices greatly. Besides these factors, there are many others that can influence prices such as damage done to oil barracks, refineries, etc. Gas prices will be no different than an item in a grocery store like I mentioned above, it basically comes down to the supply and demand of gasoline. When the demand is high, which it always is when it comes to gas, the price is going to be higher. If you don’t want to pay the higher gas prices, there are many alternatives on how you can save on gasoline.

Do you want to learn more about the water fuel technology, and whether or not it can really be used to replace gas? More and more people around the world are being exposed to this secret, and it is because there has been a significant increase in the number people looking for fuel alternatives.1. The Unavoidable Rise of Fuel PricesWith the supply of gas running lower and the tension between
Iran and the
US increasing, it is possible that fuel prices will continue to rise even more in the near future. This has caused many drivers to become very worried, forcing some of them to sell their cars and take public transport instead. One of the most amazing discoveries I made is that some people have been running their cars partly with water now.2. How Can Water Be Used As A Fuel?Water cannot be directly burned like a fuel, but gases can be extracted from it to be burned for energy. With H2O being much easier and cheaper to acquire than gasoline, it is no wonder that many drivers are using the water fuel technology. The discovery of water’s ability to provide energy was actually made many years ago, but has never been released to the public. Oil prices can be very erratic during economic crisis and wars, thus there is always research being done to find gas alternatives.3. Have You Heard Of The Deuterium Project? The research of using water as a fuel had already begun 20 years ago in a project called The Deuterium Project. Today, we can use this technology ourselves by building a simple electrolysis system and installing it into our cars.4. How Come We Have Never Heard Of This Water Fuel Technology Before? This technology had never been commercialized due to its ability to impact the oil industry significantly. If everyone were to run their cars with water, the demand for oil would drop, seriously affecting countries that rely on crude oil sales for national income.5. How Can You Use The Water Fuel Technology Yourself? The water system can be built from home for typically less than $150, depending on whether you already have some of the parts at home. So far, this system has been able to provide enough energy to power cars and trucks. You do still need some amounts of gasoline, but at smaller amounts if you use this system.

Winter highway and general road conditions, especially in
Michigan where snow and ice can come up all of a sudden while you are driving, are what drivers dread in the months of November through March (sometimes even April!). You first need to allow yourself extra time when planning your trip if you must drive in winter conditions. Clear off your vehicle of all snow, ice, etc., including on your hood and roof. Be sure to turn your headlights on so that other drivers can see you better. Although the posted speed limit may be 65 mph, you will want to decrease your speed to allow for at least three times the normal stopping distance, should you need to brake quickly. Use low gears to maintain your vehicle’s traction, especially on hills. If there are snowplows out, you must stay behind them at lest 200 feet and never pass them on the right (this is against the law). Be especially careful when passing them in the passing lanes.Often, the passing lane is in worst condition than the driving lane so avoid sudden lane changes. In general, brake early and gently so your vehicle does not skid. If your wheels do lock up, ease off the brake and never pump anti-lock brakes (just stomp and steer out of a skid). Some other general tips for driving in winter conditions include the following:1. Watch for slippery bridge decks.2. Do not use cruise control/overdrive.3. Do not cut quickly in front of large trucks.4. GO SLOW AND DRIVE DEFENSIVELY!When highway conditions become too much for you and your vehicle, do not hesitate to postpone/cancel your travel plans altogether because your safety is what matters. Eventually, the roads will be salted and clear and you will be able to get to your destination.

In the past twenty years, diesel engines have the connotations of pollution, heavy machinery, and uncomfortably loud noises. This image that many people have is beginning to take a turn for the change as several automakers are reinventing the diesel engine with remarkable results. Nearly 25 years ago, General Motors unveiled diesel powered Chevrolet Caprices and a few Oldsmobile models. These cars soon became the center of attention as the diesel engines were shaky, unreliable, and a total nightmare for the consumer. General Motors backed itself into a corner and paid a hefty amount to outfit the vehicles sold with new gasoline engines. Ever since the ‘diesel disaster’ as some automotive enthusiasts have come to call it, diesel engines have taken a back seat to many consumers’ minds. General Motors failure in the 80s combined with increasing efforts to clean up the air and minimize pollution while maximizing engine efficiency pushed the diesel engine back years, but at the same time allowed it to be reinvented and instituted in an entire new way.European car makers were among the largest importers of diesel engine cars and remain so today. Mercedes and Volkswagen were the largest of the importers and the success they have been experiencing has not gone unseen. There was a large dip in the number of these cars over a decade ago, but the diesel is reemerging as an efficient, cost-effective, and super reliable means of powering any car and not just a truck. Diesel engines have been implemented in sports cars, luxury vehicles, and even small cars such as Honda Civics and Chevrolet’s Geo.Chrysler has been trying diesel engines within its Jeep division and has seen great results, along with Ford who has been dabbling into pushing diesels into the smaller caliber vehicles such as the Taurus and Focus. What makes the new diesel engine system so attractive is the combination of a much improved fuel mileage, higher torque output, and an extremely reliable engine. Also, with the cost of diesel fuel often being cheaper than regular unleaded, it would cost less to fill up. As mentioned earlier, diesel engines are much more reliable than most gasoline engines. However a well taken care of diesel engine will often run for hundreds of thousands of miles longer than a gasoline engine.Within five or ten years, the number of vehicles using diesel engines will likely jump a great deal and dominate a good portion of the automotive market. Asian automakers including Isuzu,
Toyota, and Nissan are upping their investments in the North American auto industry, and the overseas car industry has been experimenting and implementing diesel engines longer than the
United States. As the number of these imported cars increase, so will the likelihood of these automobiles running on diesel fuel.Remember the next time you’re thinking about purchasing a car to keep this article in mind. Diesel if just like gasoline prices, they can either go up or down, you’ll never know. Whether you like it or not, diesel fuel is the future of the automotive industry.

The price of gas is still going up with no end in sight. Since we all can’t drive “gas miser” cars here is some tips that will help no matter what you drive.A very important consideration is how you drive or driving economically. First of all driving within the speed limit will help. Cars are made to travel at optimal speeds near 65 miles per hour so if your cruising at 90 miles per hour you’re not going to get optimal gas mileage.Driving appropriately also includes around town driving. Stop and go traffic can ruin your mileage and breaking hard and accelerating hard maneuvers will kill your gas mileage. Most stop lights are timed to turn green for cars moving at the speed limit. Speeding can put you out of sync with the lights leaving you breaking, idling, and accelerating from the lights.Shifting gears appropriately. The higher the gear the less fuel you use. If you have a standard transmission car shifting at a lower RPM will keep your mileage were you want it to be.Keeping your car properly maintained can be equally as important as good driving habits.Check you tires. Proper tire pressure is very important. Rotating tires will also insure proper tire wear. Make sure you car is properly aligned and goes straight down the road. If it isn’t your gas mileage is suffering and you may have front end parts that are in need of replacement.Make sure your air filter is clean. A dirty air filter can cut your fuel economy by 10 % or more. A clean air filter can also protects your engine and can prolong its life.My last tip is to not carry heavy unnecessary items in your vehicle. Unused bike racks, ski boxes/racks, and other utility racks can add wind resistance to your

Buying hybrid cars can seem a little daunting but not in the manner in what you may think, the complication in buying a Hybrid car is which one you should choose. To assist you in your purchase you will need to understand some of the basic principals on a Hybrid Electric vehicle (HEV).All HEV’s have two energy sources for its engines: Electric and Combustion. When in everyday use on the road the car will run on either the Electric engine or the Combustion engine. However if the driver requires faster acceleration both engines will operate together. There are many characteristics worth considering when purchasing a Hybrid Car, they have low emissions, are fuel efficient, and the battery actually recharges itself whilst you are driving therefore eliminating the need to plug into a wall socket like you would with a pure Electric Car.There are also other considerations that must be taken into account when purchasing your HEV.1. As a Prospective buyer you should have some level of understanding regarding the language that is used in relation to buying hybrid cars. According to the California Air Resources Board, Ultra Low-Emission Vehicle is a car with 50 percent cleaner emission, compared with that of a new 2001 model car.A Super Ultra Low-Emission Vehicle emits 90% cleaner emissions than that of an average new 2002 model car. You will however have heard of cars that produce zero-emission but these are purely electric cars, and not hybrid cars, and at present pure electrical cars are impractical to produce.2. You should also consider what you would use your HEV for. Hybrid cars are best used on short distance journeys in your local area if you were to use them on Highways or long journeys you would not be expected to get much Fuel reduction.3. The other consideration is the cost, Hybrid Cars are usually more expensive than normal vehicles but this is due to the fact that at present there is only small numbers in production compared to Petrol cars and also they are more mechanically more complex. But these are only minor concerns considering what you will be saving on fuel. The
Federal
State is at present encouraging people to buy HEV’s due to the long term benefits of limiting fuel usage. There are also several tax deductions for new buyers of hybrid cars, and several cities are also offering free parking as an additional incentive for low-emissions vehicles. Therefore it is safe to say that the people, who buy hybrid cars, are the people who are buying the vehicles of the future.
