Fuel prices are steep and always rising. If you can squeeze a few more miles out of every gallon imagine the savings you can make on fuel costs. The world is constantly finding out ways to use transportation that is affordable and eco-friendly. There are solar battery powered cars as well as hybrid cars in use. However the majorities are still using petrol or diesel powered vehicles. Whether you drive a two seat car, economy car or a sedan or a sports model that runs on gas you need to master ways in which you can make fuel last long. Here are a few tips given by automobile experts that will give an increase in miles per gallon (MPG):1. Read driving tips give by the AAA. Drive at optimal fuel efficacy speeds and use the right gears at the right time.2. Keep the car serviced and in top mechanical condition. Learn how to listen to the car and diagnose any knocks or strange sounds. 3. Ensure that the car air filter is clean. Fuel economy is greatly enhanced with a clean air filter. When an air filter gets clogged it blocks air flow and reduces engine efficacy. So remove the filter and hold it up to check if you can see light through it. Use a filter that can be cleaned and is better for the environment.4. Always ensure that tires are in good condition and that they are properly inflated. Use the parameters recommended by the car manufacturer and make it a point to check tire pressure whenever you fuel the car.5. Watch the speed fuel economy decreases with increased speeds. So drive within the speed limits and watch the difference in fuel consumption.6. Try not to speed and brake constantly. Driving at a steady pace keeps shifting to a minimum and aids fuel economy. Ever watch how trucks drive at a constant pace? They don’t brake and speed like cars do and yet arrive at a destination in the same time frame. When you brake to a stop and restart the car much more fuel is used. 7. Learn all about acceleration and revs. Stopping and starting hurts the car and fuel use. If your car is an automatic accelerate moderately and allow the transmission to shift gear smoothly. Otherwise shift gear early so that the engine does not go wroom. Slowdown if you see a stop light changing well in advance so that you don’t have to brake suddenly.8. Use the air conditioning sparingly. At lower speeds the AC will gobble fuel. So get used to air from the outside. Enjoy the breeze and roll down the windows.9. For long road trips used recommended stock wheels. They offer greater fuel efficiency than wider cooler looking tires.10. When you buy a car don’t go for looks look at aspects of fuel efficiency and mechanics.Log on to the internet and keep abreast with reviews and tips given by automobile gurus on saving fuel and increasing the efficiency of the car. Websites like that of the AAA and road safety police also have great recommendations for motorists.Drive happily and save fuel.

A hybrid car is a specifically planned and made vehicle that mixes the strength of the conventional gasoline motor and electricity. In the past, many have referred to hybrid cars as electric cars.Technically, a hybrid automobile can not be classified as just electric because only about 40% of the energy use of the vehicle is from electric sources, in the form of collected electricity in batteries. As oil costs continue to rise with depleting supplies and rapid expansion in demand, all economies globally are experiencing the setbacks of the need to limit high use of fuel. For a long time, research and improvement has been vigorously finding ways on how struggles in regards to very high demand could finally be abolished. With the invention of the hybrid automobile, car owners and drivers all over the world are now manifesting comfort that yes there is hope.Though the wide use of hybrid cars provides hope that in the future, when oil sources finally and fully run out, the transportation industry will not experience the drawback. Yes, at this time, driving a hybrid car could result in huge savings for the car owner. At least, the overall usage of oil could be significantly reduced. Research continues to be ongoing so that in the near future, further more efficient versions of the modern hybrid car can be developed and launched into the market. However, just like many other predecessor technologies, there are many problems to owning and using a hybrid automobile. Many people hope that in the upcoming months or years, people can finally realize a better and more useful hybrid vehicle. Here are the most realistic and understandable of those frustrations. If the hybrid automobile gets into possible accidents and collisions in the future, there is a possibility that the incident would be more tragic. A hybrid automobile traditionally and usually has high voltage cables within it.Because hybrid cars are still not quite rampant and regular, purchasing spare parts may be very challenging, if not impossible. In addition, costs of spare parts can be rather costly.Any hybrid automobile needs to allocate a significant amount of space for batteries. Because the hybrid automobile needs batteries to make it work and for the use of some if its functions, the total weight of the automobile gets greater and greater.Because the hybrid vehicle technology is still a fairly new automobile technology, it is just certain that the automobile is costly. On the average, a hybrid car these days costs more than the standard and typical automobiles by approximately $3,000 to $6,000.That is just an average and is expected with the high demand for the car as more buyers get thrilled about it and manufacturers continue to make the automobile models on a restricted ability. There are several states in the
United States and some other global governments globally that are charging additional fees and other charges for possession and registration.A regular and even basic hybrid automobile is composed of a very sophisticated automobile system. Thus, ordinary mechanics likely would not have the necessary and required skill set and understanding to attend to any technical requirement for repair of any hybrid automobile.

If you are aware of the recent automotive news, you might heard of an underground technology that allows you to convert your car to run on water power. The idea of the technology is to use electrolysis to convert water into an alternative fuel, hydrogen or oxyhydrogen gas. Then, you will need to channel the flammable gas to your gas tank. Theoretically, the method is doable and workable. However, will converting a car to run on water power instead of gasoline harm a car? Let us examine this.Firstly, the idea claims that it is reversible and you can stop using the technology anytime. However, given that you have altered your car, will this cause your car warranty to be voided? Along with the information, there is a way to teach you how to protect your car warranty. Therefore, you can follow the method step-by-step while conserving your car warranty.Secondly, people may wonder whether it will harm the car since the car is made to run on gasoline instead of water. According to the technology, the technology is actually using electric to convert water into flammable gas by using an external device. Therefore, the alteration to your car is very limited. So, it will not harm your car to a large extent.Lastly, some people might want to know whether it is legal to modify the car to run on water power. The laws are different in many countries. However, as what I know, as long as you do not alter the car engine, it is fine for you to add any external devices. Therefore, it is legal to convert your car to run on water.

The unveiling of the Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car, has created quite a buzz in automobile markets across the globe. As industry experts wait with bated breath the arrival of the $2500 car, speculations are rife regarding its impact in the global auto industry. With competitors already joining the fray with their new low cost models, chances are that the automobile market is headed for a complete makeover. The availability of four-wheeled comfort at the price of a high-end two-wheeler has surely left buyers spoiled for choice. It is interesting, therefore, to note what our Gen Y feels in this regard. Will they stick to their old passion for fast bikes or go in for a small car?Talking to a number of respondents aged 18-28 in the various metro cities of
India has yielded a number of possibilities. While guys were divided in their opinion, girls were mostly unanimous in support of the small car. This was predictable, considering that females rated the safety and comfort factors above style and glamor. With more and more women in the metro cities joining the job brigade, a means of personal transport has become more of a necessity than an indulgence. For many, using public transport during peak hours is a vexation. Women with late working hours have opted for the small car as a means of ensuring their personal safety. For some other women, the small car is also a symbol of status, a statement of power and emancipation in a male-dominated world.
With men, however, the scenario is a bit different. While a sizable number of the Gen Y population is impressed with the idea of a small and affordable car, there are many who are skeptic about its capabilities. Style, safety and power are the three most important prerequisites when it comes to choosing a car for men. For the wild and the adventurous, it is the feel of power that counts the most. With high-end bikes providing them with the desired adrenalin rush, many are willing to forgo the comforts of a small car. However, the situation is just the opposite with others. Young executives, typically, are ready to accept the small car as a means of elevating social status in the corporate world. In fact, more than fifty percent of the respondents voted in favor of the small car, although many among them adopted a cautious note regarding its performance.Overall, it can be said that the concept of the small car has caught the imagination of today’s youth. While some prize the thrills of riding a fast bike the most, the majority seems to be willing to settle down to the comforts of a small car. With the small car concept steadily winning over Gen Y, the automobile market seems to be set for a radical change. With the indications manifest enough, it is time for us to wait for the final verdict.

In order to ensure that refrigerant is recovered properly from a car’s air conditioning system during servicing, a workshop must use an automotive AC machine. These devices prevent the release through venting of CFC gases. EPA guidelines require that when a car is being serviced, the Freon, or CFC12 that is used as the coolant should be collected and recycled in order that it is not released into the environment where it can potentially damage the ozone layer. The refrigerant used in most motor vehicle air conditioning systems is based on chlorofluorocarbons, which have been linked with causing damage to the ozone layer, and as such, the control of these substances is of particular concern to the environmental protection agency. Whenever a car air conditioning system undergoes maintenance, proper care must be taken to protect the environment from the release of CFCs, and this is best done by using automotive AC Machines.By reusing Freon gas rather than allowing it to be vented into the atmosphere, the environment is protected. However, when the refrigerant is collected from a car’s air conditioning it can be contaminated with water, oil and any of the other liquids that are used in cars. By using automotive AC machines, it is possible to process the refrigerant and remove any of the other fluids from it, allowing it to be reused, either in the same system as it has been drained from, or alternatively, in another car altogether. There are a whole range of different refrigerant recovery machines on the market to suit all types of workshop, from small operations through to large commercial garages that deal with many different types of car, and need to be able to offer a complete service to clients.Choosing the right automotive AC machines for your needs can be a daunting task, and too many people simply opt for the cheapest model available, rather than making an informed decision about the best product for their needs. EPA requirements aside, the most important factor when choosing the correct automotive AC machine for your business, is the capacity of the machine to deal with the range of vehicles that you currently work on. You need to choose a machine that can connect easily with all the different types of car that your workshop deals with, and which has enough capacity to recover and treat the refrigerant left in the system to remove any impurities.Basic automotive AC machines such as the Pro Set Oiless Portable Recovery Recycle Unit are flexible enough to reprocess coolant from a fairly wide range of sources, remove any contaminating oils and other liquids, and release the Freon in perfect condition for reuse. There are other machines in a similar price bracket that are reliable enough for every day use, and yet still compact enough not to require a vast amount of space in your workshop. Automotive AC Machines such as the Inficon Vortex refrigerant recovery machine are ideally suited to occasional use, and are very compact. If offering AC repairs and servicing is key to your business, then having the right tools for the job is essential. Getting it right at the beginning when you choose an AC coolant recovery machine often means choosing a model from the Cool Tech range. These robust and highly regarded specialist tools are at the centre of any serious AC shop, and thanks to their efficiency and great value for money, will pay for themselves over and over again.

For nearly 30 years we there has been a constant and very active campaign to stop drunk driving. The laws get tougher and tougher each year, with acceptable blood alcohol levels dropping and sentences getting stiffer. In fact, if someone dies from their injuries in an accident where alcohol was involved, the intoxicated driver may be charged with murder.Recent studies have shown that drivers talking on cell phones are as or more impaired than drunk drivers, yet we have every few laws against driving while talking on the phone. The researchIn a study by
University of
Utah psychologists, published in the June 29 issue of Human Factors: the Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, comparing the effects of alcohol and cell phone use on driving, researchers found that people talking on cell phones, even hands-free devices, were slightly more impaired than intoxicated drivers.
Referring to an earlier study by the same group, David Strayer,
University of
Utah psychology professor and principal author of the study says, “If you put a 20-year-old driver behind the wheel with a cell phone, their reaction times are the same as a 70-year-old driver who is not using a cell phone.”In 2002, NewScientist reported that in experiments conducted by Transport Research Laboratory, “drivers talking on mobile phones had 30% slower reaction times than those who had been drinking, and 50% slower times than sober participants.” Again, using a hands-free cell phone did not prevent distraction.Different from other distractions
We are constantly encountering distractions while driving, but most require less attention. It is more than a conscious choice. It is how the brain works. When we talk on the phone our brain dedicates more to hearing and vision actually blurs a bit. When we are talking with passengers, they are aware of what is going on and automatically respond to changes in traffic and situations which call for elevated driver attention, releasing our brains to do what we need to do. A person on the phone has no clue what is going on, and does not intuitively behave this way. In fact, they may intensify the conversation, creating even more distraction at a critical moment.Non-interactive distractions, such as listening to the radio, don’t slow down reaction time because they don’t interfere with the brain’s ability to automatically shift its attention to the most important task at hand.Proving cell phone use
If you have been injured in an accident caused by a cell phone user, it can be a key factor in proving fault. Although the laws are slowly changing, they are still very lax when it comes to cell phones and driving. Cell phone use is rarely included in police reports and drivers rarely admit to the fact that they have been on the phone when an accident occurred. Most will try to hide it.Cell phone records can be difficult to understand, and do not always accurately reflect the time of a call, and most companies do not keep call records for very long. Often, the only way to prove that cell phone use was to blame for an accident is through witness statements.

Let’s face it, as long as vehicles run on gas, there will be a demand for gasoline. As car manufactures try to gear away from the gasoline powered engine and put more work into a hybrid type model, people often wonder if they’ll ever even see this type of car. It’s a question that is on everyone’s mind. When it comes down to the industry, it really comes down to supply and demand. Like any product on the market, if there’s a demand for it, it’s going to have a price tag. The higher the demand, the more it’s going to cost the consumer. Are we looking at the highest gas prices ever?Believe it or not, we aren’t looking at the highest gas prices ever. If you look back at historical data that pertains to gas prices, you’ll notice that in the late 70’s, early 80’s, gas prices were about the same they were today in 2008. If you add in inflation, you’ll realize that gas prices are well below the historical average. Why is gas cheaper in some states? If you ever travel the globe, you’ll notice that gas prices are different in other areas. Why is this? There are a lot of factors that come into play when it comes to determining gas prices. A few factors that come into play are the proximity of the supply, how much competition there is in the market around you, operating costs, and state taxes. When it comes to state taxes, every state will vary; this is what plays a big part in determining local gas prices. Another fact that comes to mind is the area you fill up in. As you may know by now, each country within your state has its own tax schedule. Some counties will have higher tax brackets than others which plays an effect on gas stations in that area. When it comes to gasoline industry, there are so many questions people have when it comes down to it. The best way to find your answers is to either do a little research online or if you can’t find what you’re looking for on there, your local library should have an extensive collection of information pertaining to many popular gas topics. Gas will be around for a while and like I mentioned above, it’s not going anywhere as long as vehicles are traveling the roads. If you’re sick of the gasoline prices and how they work, there are many alternatives to saving on fuel; it’s your job to take action!

Car accidents have been known to be one of the main causes of deaths among teenagers and most especially children. This is the reason why parents should take extra care in making sure that their children are safe when they are inside a vehicle, whether it may be moving or parked. With this need for car safety for children, car seats were invented and introduced.Over the years, car seats have grown to be more popular as more and more parents have taken caution and have recognized their importance. There is however different types of car seats available in the market and each one correspond to a specific child age group or where some opine it is the weight of the child that gives the more decisive basis for getting a type of car seat. It is important that parents know this in order to get the right car seat that is appropriate for their babies and their toddler. For babies, the parents should get a baby car seat that is rearward facing. This kind of car seat can hold room for babies that are aged from birth up to 12 or 15 months, whose weight can be as heavy as 10 kilograms or 22 pounds until 13 kilograms or 29 pounds. Babies are more out of harm’s way if they are protected as they are facing the rear of the car and cosseted by the seat. With a rear facing car seat safely securing them in, they are cushioned from the bumps and jolts that the stirring car may go through. The seat shields and supports the head, the neck and the spine of the baby. It is preferred to place this rear facing car seats in the rear as compared to placing them in the front of the car. It is advised to never place the seat in front when the car has a passenger airbag as this could suffocate the child; hurting them instead of keeping them safe. It is recommended that you use rearward facing baby car seats for as long as your baby can fit on it. You will know your baby needs to move on to a bigger seat if her head is as high or even higher than the crown of the car seat or if her weight is or has already exceeded the maximum. As your child outgrows his rear facing seat, you need now to get her a forward facing seat. This type of seat can hold a toddler of 9 to 18 kilograms or around 20 to 40 pounds, whose age could be between 9 months to 4 years old. The important factor with forward facing kid car seats is the harness that keeps the child safe in place. This should prevent the child from sliding off or bouncing in front out of the chair in case there is a collision or if dad accidentally puts on the brakes too hard. Just the same, it is favored that this seat be placed in the rear and to keep your toddler in such a seat until his age or his weight tells you to move on to the next level.

How To Improve Your Gas Mileage ? Some would advise you to shut down the vehicle when it is not in motion. Some would even convince you to push your own vehicle so that you will get the maximum mileage! There are a variety of ways to do it. But there is only one concrete way of improving your mileage. Turn your car into a hybrid and you can get real extra mileage. Hybrid is the only real way of attaining it; everything else is just a compromise. You can use a hybrid plug-in which is nothing but an accessory. This accessory which has the ability to produce Oxydrogen which is a product create by the splitting up of water and baking soda is capable enough to increase your mileage by nearly 50%. Once you design or build such an accessory which is capable of producing Oxydrogen, your engine would draw energy from both Oxydrogen and Gasoline. This is the best way of achieving the maximum amount of savings. Switching off your engine which is not in motion and braking less may save some little bit of gasoline. But, it can never be compared with the saving which your car would give when you convert your gasoline powered car into a Hybrid.Hybrid kit is not any another accessory. It is the future, accept it and embrace it. You will never regret for converting your vehicle into a hybrid. In course of time your hybrid will save for itself.
