When Buying A Car, Extras Could Cost You A Lot Of Money In The End. Here Are Some Tips On How To avoid them

It’s amazing how many people get ripped off after they have already closed the deal. You have the car you want, you got the price you’re happy with and then it happens. They get you on the extras and the warranties at that point and they can actually suck another $1000 to $4000 cash or another $100 to $200 a month. The extras are things like rust proofing, scotch guarding etc. It seems pretty straight forward but you would be surprised at how many people get taken on these. What’s really amazing is that you get scammed on a car and say, “that’s not going to happen again!” Then 3 years later, Bam, what the heck just happened???The trickiest closing cost scam is the extended warranty because the language used is so confusing. This is not even the warranty that the factory gives you for the car. It is a warranty that covers the cost of fixing the car should it break down on you. To get around this, you have to know the dealer’s language and you should really get this part down. Now although extended warranties often do cover any repairs that you require during your coverage period, there is often some information that you are not told about. For example, the extended warranty is usually effective only up to a certain amount of mileage or term period; whichever happens first. Make sure you have all the details on the terms if you decide to take on the extra auto coverage. The warranty might also only cover certain types of problems. If your extended warranty doesn’t cover every part of your car, why bother? It will cost you so make sure it’s worth it for you. Some extended warranties don’t cover the larger engine problems or certain power train issues, but just cover the smaller issues. If your engine conks out, you may be left in the lurch. Don’t even bother considering buying an extended warranty if you are only leasing the car for a small time period like 36 months. Perhaps it is better only for longer periods of leasing like 60 months. Many extended warranties don’t cover everyday wear and tear policies, only breakdown problems. If you do insist on getting an extended warranty, get one that covers you for both occurrences. You will only really want to get a warranty on a more dependable car like a Lexus, Honda, or

Toyota because extended warranties rarely cover the costs incurred in cars that are closer to the present time of purchase. You will also want to get a warranty that is effective immediately. You will also want to get a warranty with a well established finance company and not one that go belly up in a year.Don’t purchase an extended warranty directly from the dealer. Instead look at sites on LendingTree.com for an online warranty because being online gives you all the time to asses your warranty properly. Keep a close eye out for your deductibles because you don’t want to get stuck paying for deductibles that you thought were covered by the warranty. The following chart shows some of the extras that dealers try to get you on at closing. This can be very irritating how they try to weasel even more money out of you in the end on stuff that you really don’t need at all. I mean, you already paid a chunk of hard earned cash, but they see it as, what’s another $2000 or $3000?Of course, when you hear them explain the extras, they will all sound like you need them NOW. It’s bad enough that they will throw them up at you but look at this table to show how much they are really ripping you off by.Most Common Extras at ClosingDescription
Rust proofing - Your price $800 - Dealers costs $40
Extended warranty - Your price $1200 - Dealers costs $300
Scotch guard - Your price $300 - Dealers costs $5
Car alarm - Your price $400 - Dealers costs $100
Paint sealant - Your price $300 - Dealers costs $10
Credit/insurance costs - Your price $200 - Dealers costs $30
Detailing and pin striping - Your price $299 - Dealers costs $30
Total of extras - Your price $3499 - Dealers costs $515
Extra monthly payment - Your price $97 - Dealers costs $0
As you can see, these extras when buying a car will get you in the end. If you can, you should avoid them all together. They are worth far more to the dealer than they are to you. Understand what you want and or need and stick to your guns.

Find The Best Deals At New And Used Car Auctions

When you are looking for a car you are looking for the best deal possible that can save you tons of money. Well, there are definitely a lot of deals out there and you can save up to thousands of dollars. The basic trick is knowing where to look so that you can get exactly what you want. Everyone wants to own a car that they can be proud of because it has aesthetic value and resale possibilities. However, you need to make sure that your car is safe for you and your family just in case you ever need a little bit of extra protection during a car accident or any other situation. The most important thing to you may be that the car is affordable and fits nicely into your budget. Clearly, this is a lot to ask and it can be very difficult to find a car that holds up all of these standards. However, if you are dedicated and kind of have the inside scoop then you will know how to go about finding the car of your dreams for a low price.Did you know that there are car auctions going on all the time and you just have to find them? There are a lot of ways that you can get great deals at these local car auctions. Every year, there are bunches of cars that fall into the control of the government in various ways such as surplus and seizure laws, tax laws, or the IRS. The cars that are taken by surplus and seizure mean that there was an excess of cars after importing all the goods for the year. This means that the supply was higher than the demand and no one wanted to buy those extra cars. If that happens then those cars fall into the hands of the government who then have to store them. Those cars can cost a lot of money to store so the government would rather sell them to you for a very low price instead of wasting money storing cars that are just going to sit there forever. These cars can be found at auctions.Well, you don’t know where to find local car auctions? Well then you should start looking on the internet for sites that tell you where to go in every city in the country to find all makes and models of cars at really low prices. These kinds of auctions are listed in certain directories online that you can search through to find an auction near you with the perfect car that you would love to have and not regret buying because it is so cheap. The government is not going to hold these cars forever so you should get in there and take your chance to make a great investment on a safe, reliable, and beautiful car that you can get for an extremely low price just because the government imported too many and now they need to get them off of their hands.

Could Green Cars Help Minimize Global Warming ?

Global warming is one of the most hotly debated issues today. Cars have been identified as one of the leading contributors to the escalating global warming problem. To minimize the effects of autos on the environment and limit its impact on global warming, a potential solution has been identified: green cars.According to those who believe in global warming, drivers need to start using green motorcars. But what exactly are green cars and would they really slow down global warming?Electric and hybrid cars are two such types of green cars. In reality, electric vehicles are not at all environment friendly. In order to get an electric car to run, it must be “charged” in power stations. These power stations convert only 30% to 40% of the energy into electricity. When the electricity is being transferred from the station to an electric car, 30% of the electricity is lost along the electric cables. Thus, by the time the electricity reaches the electric car, much of the energy is lost. Electric autos may cut down pollution in inner cities, but they aren’t efficient at all.Hybrid vehicles, on the other hand, are becoming the preferred automobiles by many motorists. A hybrid car has both an electric motor and a gas engine. The energy generated whenever you brake is what powers up the motor battery. Compared to electric models, hybrid autos appear to be more environment friendly — in theory, at least. In practice, however, hybrid autos are still not up to par.Which?, a British consumer magazine put four hybrid vehicles to the test by driving them all throughout

London. The four hybrid models performed poorly. George Marshall-Thornhill, the senior research at Which?, wrote: “Some of these should have performed much better.”Hybrid motorcars are not at all completely “green” either as the batteries would still need to be disposed of. They aren’t exactly biodegradable. Cost is another disadvantage of hybrid autos. For most people, hybrid vehicles are expensive compared to the regular engine-run autos. Since hybrid is a relatively new car concept, they are still not produced in a large scale so as to drive the costs down. The bottom line is that green cars like the pure electric and hybrid automobiles end up using more energy, are more difficult to dispose of and are just too expensive for common motorists. Perhaps in a few years, green cars would be a legitimate option for motorists, but for now it still falls short of being a practical solution to global warming.

Jump Starters, It’s Something That Has Happened To All Of Us No Matter How Careful We Are

Simply leaving the lights on when you park your car is enough to make the charge drain completely from the battery, and leave it unable to start when you come back to it. Whether you have left your car on the driveway or in the supermarket car park, a dead battery means the same – you’re going nowhere. Thankfully, most people are sensible enough to have a set jumper cables or a jump starter in their car at all times, and this means that under circumstances where your battery is flat you can always get a charge to get the motor running from another motorist. In the most simple of applications, a jump starter works by attaching a back up battery onto the electric starter of your car, and using the charge from the jump starter to get the initial spark into your engine to allow it to start when your battery is completely discharged. In the past, many people relied on a simpler method of using a pair of wires with a crocodile clip at either end and attaching them to the battery of another car, but in the modern world, when you cannot rely on being able to find someone to help you, and even then, cannot guarantee that the power supply on their engine is compatible with yours, you really need a dedicated jump starter on hand to guarantee that you can get your motor running in an emergency. As a result, you typically need to spend a little more than previously on jump starters, but at least the latest models add some functionality, and are robust enough to last for years. You can get a basic jump starter from as little as $70 from Red Hill Supply, and have a device that you can rely on in an emergency to give you a boost from another car in order to get your’s started. Even basic jump starters include a few extra features, and for less than $80 you can get your hands on a convenient mini jump starter that also incorporates a flashlight and will boost a charge into a 12 volt battery system and get you back on the road.By investing a little more in a jump starter, you can get plenty of added value in the form of extended functions. For a little more than $240 you can get yourself a jump starter that will give a charge to a 12-volt system. The 12-V Jump and Carry has a 2000 Amp peak flow of charge, and can also double as a trickle charger to top up your battery overnight. The Jump n Carry attaches directly onto the battery of your car, and includes a monitor dial to let you know how much of your charge you have.More advanced models such as the K&K Jumpstart offer the flexibility of providing a charge to either a 12 or 24 volt system, so you only need one unit for two separate cars. They have the power to get the car started in an emergency, whatever your engine. At the top end of the range of jump starters, there are advanced trolley mounted systems that are designed to provide a heavy duty and reliable power supply for the work shop. Such models will generally offer enough charge to get up to 50 or more cars started on a single charge, as well as providing an almost unlimited charging capability when connected to a mains supply.

There Is Nothing Quite Like The Feeling Of Buying A Brand New Car

Most people have a few clunkers, and maybe a lemon or two as their first few cars, while they save up for a decent down payment for their dream car. Nowadays however, with every major car company allowing people to lease a vehicle rather than buying it, saving up for a down payment is not as necessary as it used to be.Leasing dropped into the car scene a few years ago and has been viewed as a life saver to many would be car owners. When you think about it, what person wouldn’t choose to pay $175 or $250 a month for a car instead of $350 or $500? Leasing prices are much lower than monthly payments, no matter how big your down payment is! Some companies offer leasing packages that almost sound too good to be true. However, they usually are too good to be true!If you are looking to buy a new car but you are dragging your feet about paying a high monthly payment, the leasing option is probably starting to look really good to you. If you do your research however, you will ultimately find that buying your car is almost always the smartest thing to do. I would say that the only exception to this is if you have moved somewhere for a short period of time for your job, or for schooling and you need a car. In these cases, leasing would be a smart thing to do, as long as you are not planning any long road trips. When you enter into a leasing agreement, you are basically borrowing a car from a company, with the understanding that if anything should happen to the car, you are 100% liable, and you will have to pay any damages. When you buy a car, the same applies, but when you own your car, you don’t have to give it back after putting your money into it! You also get the added benefit of trading it in for another new car when the time comes. When you lease your car, the lease agreement is usually for four to five years, after which you will have the option to give it back (once the car company has made absolutely sure it is coming back with no scratches or dents!) or to pay the remaining thousands cash down so you can own the car. Although the monthly payment for leasing a car is lower, it is still cheaper and better in the long run to purchase the car and pay a higher monthly payment. If you own your car, you make the rules, you decide if a dent or scratch really does need fixing and if it does, you can decide where you want to get it fixed. You can also drive as far as you like in a year, and not worry about paying for your mileage. Leasing agreements usually give you 20,000 kilometers or miles per year an you will pay a lot extra to be able to drive more in a year.

Some go for muscle cars, others go for SUVs, heavy duty pick ups and even the expensive sports cars. No matter what the choice may be, it all depends upon the driver’s preferences. When It Comes To Reducing Your Car Insurance Premiums You Can Do A Lot To Help Yourself

However one of the biggest ways in which you can make savings is by choosing to look around for your car insurance. Not only should you shop around, but the best place to look for your car insurance is by doing so online. Reducing your car insurance premiums isn’t really all that hard just type in the words “car insurance” on any popular search engine and it will give you a huge range to choose from. Of course while this is the best place to look when it comes to purchasing your car insurance, there are some factors that you should have given some thought to beforehand. To begin with when it comes to reducing your car insurance some thought should be given as to the type of car that you should get. The smaller the car, the less your car insurance will cost you, if you choose a car with a bigger engine then your premiums will be a lot higher. Another factor to take into consideration when it comes to choosing your car is to avoid buying one which is imported, this is usually because the cost to repair them is more expensive. The more security features that you install on your car, then the safer it is classed, and as such this can help to bring down your premiums. Many insurers will have listings giving you information on the brands and types of security features that they class as being better than others, simply by installing these you can reduce your car insurance premiums. One of the biggest ways you can make savings is by having a clean driving record; if you have points on your record then this will boost up the amount that you are quoted for your premium, however when applying for your insurance online it is essential that you be totally honest if you do have points.Always make sure that you don’t include people on your insurance that aren’t going to be driving your car on a regular basis, the more people that you have on your insurance then the higher the premium will be, so if you have family members listed then consider removing them to save on your premium.Other ways in which you can reduce your car insurance premium is to take advanced driving lessons to boost your safety record and if you are a young driver, an older driver or a woman driver then check out the many specialist sites which cater specifically for age and gender.

Armed With This Information, You Should Be Able To Select The Right Car Power Inverter For Your Needs And Never Be Without 110 Volt A/C Power Again!

Power inverters are become more and more common everyday. Most of us now take our electronic devices on the road with us and the need to have an A/C outlet in our cars has been a problem. From our iPods to our laptops, there are countless toys and work related items that we need and want in our cars. This is where the power inverter can save the day. These unobtrusive metal boxes fit easily into a glove box. They can be taken out, plugged into a cigarette lighter and presto, you have an A/C outlet. Now there are many different sizes and models to choose from and also a lot of confusion.Selecting the right modelThe first question to answer is what make and model do I need. Well, to be fair not all power inverters are created equal or priced equal for that matter. You can pick up an inexpensive model at your local big box store for under $30. However, don’t expect it to last very long. I personally purchased 2 of these cheaper models trying to save a buck and neither one lasted more than 2 months. I suspect it was because the cheap model didn’t come with a cooling fan and simply burned up. Based on my past experience, I would recommend a model that has a cooling fan. Power inverters build up heat and need to be cooled in order to function properly. Also, look for a model with metal construction as opposed to a plastic shell. I have dropped mine several times getting out of my car and the heavy duty metal construction has saved my car power inverter on more than one occasion. Another feature that the larger models have is the ability to hook your inverter directly to your car battery with a pair of cables and clamps. This is a nice option if you are camping or have a temporary power failure at the house. You won’t have to crank your car and the direct connection is superior to going through the thin cigarette lighter wire. The cigarette also limits the amount of watts you pull.Sizing a power inverterPower inverters come lots of sizes, ranging from small 100 watt inverters that fit directly into a cigarette light all the way to a 3,000 way model with 4 or more A/C outlets. Selecting the right size car power inverter is a relatively simple process. How many and what types of devices will you be running from your inverter? To find out, just look for a sticker or label that specifies how many watts that device will require. Sometimes only amps are given and there is a simple formula to calculate the watts. ( Amps X Volts =

Watts). Here is a quick list of common electronic devices and their watts:Laptop computer300 wattsSmall desk lamp 20 wattsToaster1,500 wattsRadio15 wattsTelevision100 wattsInstalling your power inverterThe smaller 100 watt models are the easiest to install. They simply plug into your 12 volt cigarette lighter plug and some models are totally self contained. This means that the whole unit fits right into the power source. This basically converts your cigarette lighter into a 110 volt A/C plug. Larger inverters are in a metal box with a cooling fan and have a cable with an adapter that plugs into the lighter. These models are generally small enough to be stored in a glove box until needed or can be mounted under the dashboard as well. The biggest models have cables that can be directly connected to your car’s electrical system or hooked directly to the battery terminals with some clamps. These large 1,000 to 3,000 watt models are great for emergency power in a blackout or on a camping trip.

An RV Is An Interesting Thing To Purchase, Especially For Those Buyers Who Never Had An RV Before

While getting a used RV can be a cheaper alternative to obtaining one brand new, there are a few things to watch out for. Similar to a used auto or motorcycle, a used RV is expected to have gone through some rough patches, like unfavorable weather conditions or minor dents. As such, an experienced buyer would go over the different sections of an RV to check if everything is in good shape. For those who haven’t had much experience with motor homes, there are a few basic details to check out before one makes the final decision on an RV purchase.First off, the buyer should check if the used RV in question actually fits his needs. Typically, it comes down to certain things. The size of the RV, the features it has, and the size of the water supply all need to be considered. When a buyer has a definite purpose in mind for the motor home, it becomes a simple process to determine what exactly one would need in an RV.Second, a buyer should take a good look at the surfaces of the RV. Don’t just check the outside for dents, scratches, and the like, but also check interior surfaces. While the degree of just how much damage a person can deal with varies with each buyer, stains and dents can be an indication of just how well-maintained the used RV was. Also, on rare occasions, scratches and leaks can be taken as a sign that a given area of the RV was damaged and repaired.Third, the buyer should check the engine. The general rule for checking the engine of a used RV is that if the engine doesn’t work when first started, the unit is unacceptable. Obviously, the RV’s engine is a vital component of the whole machine and if the engine doesn’t function properly, then the RV is effectively rendered useless. Provided the engine does start up the first time around, the next step would be to check the various components of the engine. The buyer should check for things like gas tank leaks, damaged tubing, or faulty wiring.Fourth, the buyer should make sure each of the components of the interior are functioning. This includes things like the air conditioning, the TV and sound systems, the water supply, the locks, the exhaust systems, and the generator. The buyer should consider which components or features he would need and then check those components in the used RV he is considering. Finally, check the history of the used RV. The buyer should speak to the seller regarding any repairs or replacements done to the RV. The buyer should do a little digging to find out if the RV has been damaged in the past or has had any parts replaced. Careful attention should be paid to areas that have been repeatedly repaired, as such parts will likely need to be repaired again after the purchase. A used RV is highly unlikely to be in perfect condition but the buyer should at least insist that everything be in working order before he finalizes the purchase.
